Day 01

Snow Activity (Northern Nagano)

Travel from Tokyo to the snowy countryside of Nozawa Onsen by the Hokuriku Shinkansen (bullet train) “Hakutaka,” enjoying a smooth and scenic journey into the mountains of Nagano. After arriving at Iiyama Station, stop by a local supermarket to pick up snacks and drinks before continuing by local train and shuttle bus to your cozy cottage, “Mori no Ie.”

After check-in and some time to relax, head out for a magical night snowshoeing experience through the quiet winter landscape. Return to the cottage in the evening and warm up with a comforting shabu-shabu dinner, surrounded by the peaceful atmosphere of the snow-covered mountains.

Day 02

A Day in Snow Country

Spend the day enjoying the winter charm of Nagano with a choice between visiting the famous Snow Monkey Park or exploring the traditional snow-country atmosphere of Nozawa Onsen Village and its kamakura snow huts.

Option 1: Snow Monkey Tour
Visit the famous Snow Monkey Park, where wild Japanese macaques relax in natural hot springs surrounded by a beautiful winter landscape. This unforgettable experience offers a rare chance to observe the monkeys up close in their natural habitat.

Option 2: Kamakura (Snow Hut) & Nozawa Onsen Village
Enjoy a traditional winter experience with kamakura snow huts and spend a relaxing day exploring Nozawa Onsen Village. Wander through charming streets lined with ryokan, local shops, and public bathhouses while soaking in the peaceful atmosphere of the snow-covered village.

Day 03

Mt. Nabekura Snowshoe Trekking

Spend the day exploring the pristine winter landscape of Mt. Nabekura on a guided snowshoe trekking adventure. Walk through peaceful snow-covered forests and open white fields while experiencing the quiet beauty of Nagano’s backcountry nature. Return to the cottage in the late afternoon and enjoy a relaxing evening at your own pace, with the option to dine at a local Japanese restaurant.

Day 04

Farewell to the Winter Mountains

Enjoy a slow and relaxing final morning in the snowy countryside before checking out of the cottage. Travel back by shuttle and local train to Iiyama Station, bringing your winter journey through the mountains of Nagano to a close.
