Day 01

Winter Fun & Onsen Town Charm

Travel from Tokyo to the snowy mountains of Northern Nagano by Shinkansen and local train, arriving in the charming hot spring town of Yudanaka Onsen. After checking in at a traditional ryokan, visit the famous Snow Monkey Park, where wild Japanese macaques bathe in steaming natural hot springs surrounded by a beautiful winter landscape. In the evening, enjoy a relaxing stroll through the nostalgic onsen town atmosphere, filled with narrow streets, local shops, and the warmth of traditional Japanese hot spring culture.

Day 02

Winter Activities in Shiga Kogen

After breakfast, travel by public bus into the snowy highlands of Shiga Kogen, one of Japan’s premier winter resort areas. Spend the day enjoying winter activities such as skiing or snowshoeing through beautiful snow-covered landscapes surrounded by forests and mountain scenery. After returning to Yudanaka in the late afternoon, relax at your ryokan in the onsen town. In the evening, an optional Japanese kaiseki dinner offers a chance to enjoy beautifully prepared seasonal cuisine and local flavors.

Day 03

Art & Culture in Obuse

After checking out, meet your guide at the hotel and travel by tour shuttle to the charming town of Obuse, known for its rich cultural heritage and close connection to the artist Hokusai. Visit Gansho-in Temple and the Hokusai Museum, and enjoy a relaxed lunch while exploring the town’s historic streets, local chestnut sweets, and traditional atmosphere. In the afternoon, take the train from Obuse Station back to Nagano and continue your journey to Tokyo.
