This 5,500-year-old Jomon settlement was registered as a World Heritage Site in 2021 as “Jomon Monuments of Hokkaido and the Northern Tohoku Region”. The Jomon period is considered to be the origin of Japanese manufacturing, and from these sites, we can learn about the lifestyle of the Jomon people. This is valuable knowledge that will lead to the sustainable lifestyle we are striving for, and will be an important step toward building a sustainable society for the future through the wisdom of the Jomon period.

The Aomori Nebuta Festival is one of the three major festivals in the Tohoku region and is known as a summer tradition.
