The splendid scenery of this town is said to be the setting of a popular anime movie. Fully enjoy this port town through traditional culture and outdoor activities both on land and at sea.
- Historical Walk
Tomonoura flourished as a “port of waiting for tides” during the Edo period. The town carefully preserves landmarks from that time, including the Tomo Night Lantern, temples, and traditional townhouses. Enjoy a guided walk with an English guide through the historical streets and sites of Tomonoura while gazing at the sea. - Sutra Copying Experience
Taichorou, facing the beautiful Sensuijima Island, renowned as an island so lovely that even hermits would linger. The view from here has been praised as the most beautiful scenic spot in Japan. Try your hand at sutra copying in this historic temple. - Sea Kayaking
Paddle south from Tomo Port, enjoying the coastline of the national park and the Seto Inland Sea. Along the way, visit Abuto Kannon from the sea.
