Overview
Sake and Kagura. This special program is a collaboration of these two things that are both dedicated to the gods in prayer for a good harvest and good health. The first half of the program is a tour to learn about the brewing process of “Ki,” Ube City’s world-class sake.
You can also enjoy a tasting of sake made from rice and water nurtured in the city’s unique nature. After the tour, visitors can watch the Iwato Kagura dance performance in a solemn space in front of the koji room, performed by a kagura troupe that was recently revived in 2018, consisting mainly of local high school students and adult volunteers. The solemnity of the kagura danced against the backdrop of a ray of light streaming in through the lighted windows is breathtaking. The office building, a registered national tangible cultural property, is also a must-see.
