A New Cycling Tour Development Project for Northern Oita Prefecture Has Begun!
In early September, Heartland Japan was asked by the Toyonokuni Millennium Heritage Tourism Zone in northeastern Kyushu to help with developing a cycling tour. We were fortunate to be asked to participate in and evaluate this tour, which was put together by a local cycling tour supplier and catered to travelers with a healthy sense of adventure.
It’s through this sort of fieldwork that we continue to refine our tours, and we plan on combining this cycling tour with other hands-on experiences to offer guests unparalleled immersion into the local area.
In this case, the pairing of cycling and a stay at a local farm worked beautifully, and having such local resources available is a big part of the draw of rural tourism. Next is translating such draw into booked tours!
We have three more such development sessions in the works for November and December, so stay tuned for more reports from the field!
