Recommended Points

Starting from the Maruyama Campsite trailhead near Rengein Tanjōji, the hike ascends to the summit. Along the route, you’ll encounter a variety of attractions that convey the history and charm of the Satoyama, including evergreen tunnels and edible trees. Optionally, you can also experience making a bamboo water bottle and chopsticks, as well as preparing Japan’s staple lunchbox item, ‘Onigiri’ (rice balls). The rice balls you make can be taken on the hike as a snack. Eating onigiri at the summit is a delicacy! It will surely become an unforgettable memory of your trip.
