Experience Details
Tanjōji Temple is famous for its prayers that are said to heal illnesses. The monks there continue their training to this day, undergoing rigorous practices including a challenging 100-day seclusion in the temple hall. The five-story pagoda at Rengein is unique in that it utilizes the inside of the tower, which is rare for five-story pagodas. Every month in this pagoda, a training session open to the general public called ‘Kudoku Gyō’ is held. In this session, you will have the opportunity to experience meditation (Ajikan), which is one of the programs offered.
Recommended Points
Japanese culture often relies on non-verbal teaching, embodying a spirit of ‘learning by watching and imitating’ and ‘learning through practice rather than instruction.’ In this training, in line with the temple’s wish to preserve and cherish Japanese culture and to provide an authentic experience, participants will undergo training in the traditional Japanese way. While some aspects may seem unusual, we encourage you to first try them out. If you have any questions, you’ll have the opportunity to ask them after the training session is complete.

Each content provider who already has a cancellation policy in place will follow their existing policy. For new content providers in this program, the following cancellation policy proposal will serve as the basis for determining the policy while making adjustments as needed.
